LOCATION: HOBART, TASMANIA


ROLE: PROJECT MANAGER

You will lead the coordination and delivery of commercial workplace projects across Tasmania.

This is a hands on role that requires both strategic oversight and day to day project management capability. You will work closely with clients, subcontractors, consultants, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure projects are delivered with clarity, accountability, and momentum.

You will be trusted to manage programme, commercial performance, project communication, and delivery standards across multiple active projects.


Core Responsibilities

Project Delivery

  • Manage commercial fitout projects from pre-construction through to completion

  • Maintain alignment between scope, budget, programme, and delivery outcomes

  • Coordinate consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams

  • Identify risks early and proactively manage solutions

  • Drive accountability across all project stakeholders

Programme & Coordination

  • Develop and maintain live project programmes

  • Coordinate sequencing and procurement activities across projects

  • Monitor milestones and proactively manage delays or constraints

  • Lead weekly project and client meetings

  • Issue meeting notes, actions, and follow-ups with clarity and consistency

Commercial & Financial Oversight

  • Maintain live cost tracking and project financial oversight

  • Manage project budgets, forecasting, variations, and reporting

  • Review subcontractor claims and support invoice approvals

  • Coordinate client invoicing and variation approval workflows

  • Assist with tender reviews, procurement, and subcontractor negotiations

Project Administration & Compliance

  • Manage RFIs, variation registers, project documentation, and approvals

  • Coordinate building surveyor communication and compliance documentation

  • Support subcontractor onboarding including contracts and SWMS requirements

  • Ensure project records and reporting remain accurate and organised

  • Lead project closeout and handover documentation

  • Problems resolved early through proactive communication and leadership

  • Continuous improvement of systems, reporting, and project processes

What We’re Looking For

  • Minimum 5+ years experience in commercial construction or fitout project management

  • Strong understanding of programme management, procurement, and commercial delivery

  • Demonstrated financial management capability including forecasting and live cost tracking

  • Ability to confidently manage clients, consultants, subcontractors, and competing priorities

  • High attention to detail and disciplined organisational skills

  • Calm, solutions focused approach under pressure

  • Strong written and verbal communication capability

  • Adaptable and open to improving systems and ways of working

  • Genuine care for team culture, accountability, and client outcomes

Trade, construction, architecture, or contract administration backgrounds will be highly regarded.
